There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Jarva Devils (0-2) were defeated at home by top-ranked Umea (3-0) 82-68. The game was mostly controlled by Umea. Jarva Devils was better in third quarter 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Jarva Devils 47-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. Umea players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Guard Johan Pierre (187-89, agency: Interperformances) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and forward Egal Saleman (199-88) supported him with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Even 12 points and 6 rebounds by forward Jobel Tekle (194-90) did not help to save the game for Jarva Devils. Guard Omid Behboudi (191-86) added 17 points for the hosts. Jarva Devils' coach Jana Svensson tested twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest. Umea have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of North leader. Jarva Devils at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. Umea's next round opponent will be BG Lulea (#7) at home where they are favorite. Jarva Devils will play against Alvik Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
