Regular Season Round 3: Yamanashi QB - Ebara Vickies 74-78

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB (0-2) was defeated at home by leader Ebara Vickies (2-0) 78-74 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Ebara Vickies outrebounded Yamanashi QB 35-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for swingman Misako Rikuden (172-86) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Mitsuboshi Hayano (175-86) helped adding 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Saori Kanehara (164-87) with 24 points and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and center Misuzu Sato (180-89) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ebara Vickies keep a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Yamanashi QB at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Ebara Vickies' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Niigata.
