The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Asefa Estudiantes as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Asefa Estudiantes defeated bottom-ranked CB Canarias in Madrid 101-86. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 8 other teams. Newly promoted CB Canarias still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 8 other teams. CB Canarias will play next round against strong CAI Zaragoza trying to get back on the winning streak.
