Regular Season Round 1: Trenkwalder RE - Montepaschi 56-61
Date: September 30, 2012
Very expected game in Reggio Emilia where Trenkwalder RE (0-1) was defeated by Montepaschi Siena (2-0) 61-56. It looked good early as Trenkwalder RE took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Montepaschi Siena had a 17-14 second period charge getting the lead and Trenkwalder RE was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-61. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) who helped to win the game recording 13 points. His fellow American import forward David Moss (196-83, college: Indiana St., agency: SportsTalent) contributed with 7 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Donnel Taylor (198-82, college: UAB) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and American-Swiss Greg Brunner (201-83, college: Iowa) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Trenkwalder RE. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Montepaschi Siena will have a break next round. Trenkwalder RE will play on the road against Umana Venezia.
