Regular Season Round 3: Chanson V-M - Niigata 80-64

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Chanson V-M as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Chanson V-M defeated bottom-ranked Niigata in Shizuoka 80-64. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Chanson V-M's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-16 extending their advantage to 16 points. It was a great evening for international swingman Saori Fujiyoshi (178-87) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Makoto Rin (168-88) helped adding 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Seiko Kawakami (165-88) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Sangi Kanade (169-86) scored 15 points. They share the position with 5 other teams. Niigata will play next round against strong Ebara Vickies trying to get back on the winning streak.
