Regular Season Round 2: ROW Rybnik - Energa Torun 79-89

Undefeated ROW Rybnik (1-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by ninth ranked Energa Torun (1-1) 89-79. The game was mostly controlled by Energa Torun. ROW Rybnik managed to win fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Energa Torun made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Strangely ROW Rybnik outrebounded Energa Torun 42-27 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by ROW Rybnik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Adrianne Ross (173-84, college: TCU, agency: Merit Sports) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!). The other American import guard Nicole Michael (188-87, college: Syracuse) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. American center Marcedes Marie Walker (191-86, college: Pittsburgh, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and guard Magdalena Skorek (177-84, agency: Data Plus Group) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ROW Rybnik's coach Kazimierz Mikolajec rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Energa Torun left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with BI SSA Gdynia and ROW Rybnik. Energa Torun is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Widzew (#11) in Lodz in the next round where they are favorite. ROW Rybnik will play on the road against CCC Polkowice (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
