Regular Season Round 3: Taby - Akropol 86-68

Undefeated Akropol (2-1) recorded its first loss on the court of leader Taby Basket. Visitors were defeated by Taby Basket 86-68. The game was mostly controlled by Taby Basket. Akropol was better in third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Taby Basket forced 19 Akropol turnovers and outrebounded them 36-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for swingman Johan Westerlund (191-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Swingman Erik Andersson (197-87) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Taby Basket players scored in double figures. Guard Samuel Desport (183-83) answered with 13 points and naturalized Greek forward Athanasios Kalpakas (198-84) added 11 points in the effort for Akropol. Akropol's coach Fotis Ioannidis rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Taby Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in North. Akropol at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. Taby Basket will play against Alvik Basket (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Akropol will play against Solna Branten (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
