The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Sionista's (4-4) road loss to third ranked Olimpico de La Banda (5-2) 66-77 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Olimpico de La Banda. Sionista was better in third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quite impressive performance for swingman Ariel Pau (186-84) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 8 steals. American center Sam Clancy (202-80, college: USC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Olimpico de La Banda players scored in double figures. International point guard Luis Cequeira (180-85) answered with 15 points and 7 assists and American forward Joshua Pittman (195-76, college: NC-Asheville, agency: Dream Team Management) added 13 points in the effort for Sionista. Sionista's coach Sebastian Svetliza rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimpico de La Banda moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Regatas C. Loser Sionista keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Olimpico de La Banda will face league's second-placed Regatas Corrientes at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sionista will play against Atenas in Cordoba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
