The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Penarol as it allowed them to take a leadership position in South. Penarol smashed 7th ranked 9 de Julio in Mar del Plata 101-69. The game without a history. Penarol led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game.
