Regular Season Round 7: Lanus - Obras 76-74

A very interesting game took place in Buenos Aires. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Obras (4-3) to fifth ranked Lanus (3-3) 76-74 on Friday evening. Obras was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 39-36 second half run of Lanus. 26 personal fouls committed by Obras helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward William McFarlan (201-76, college: St.Thomas Aquinas, agency: Dream Team Management) fired 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Nicolas Laprovittola (184-90) chipped in 9 points and 6 assists. International power forward Juan Gutierrez (205-83) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and Uruguayan guard Martin Osimani (194-81, college: Duquesne) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Lanus moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with Boca Jrs. Obras at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Lanus' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Buenos Aires Boca Juniors.
