An interesting game was played in Dublin where host UCD Marian won against B.Gais Neptune 70-64 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded B.Gais Neptune 63-43 including a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward John Galvin (203-88, college: Fair Dickinson) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 21 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Matthew Kelly (180-87) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American forward Darren Townes (201-86, college: Hofstra) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Ian McLoughlin (185-85) scored 17 points. B.Gais Neptune's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. UCD Marian's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Ballon Inter.
