The biggest surprise took place in Radom where host Rosa II Radom (1-0) beat AZS AGH Alstom (0-1) 92-85 in overtime on Saturday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-20. But AZS AGH Alstom won second period 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where AZS AGH Alstom used huge pressure winning it 22-13 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-15. Rosa II Radom forced 30 AZS AGH Alstom turnovers and outrebounded them 50-35 including a 37-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rosa II Radom made 10 blocks. Center Lukasz Sobuta (209-92) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. point guard Jakub Schenk (184-94) chipped in 18 points, 7 assists and 9 steals. Guard Michal Szewczyk (184-85) produced 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and Marek Hajduk (195-80) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Rosa II Radom and four AZS AGH Alstom players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. AZS AGH Alstom will play next round against Handlopex AZS. Rosa II Radom will try to continue on its current victory against Tur Bielsk Pdl. in Bielsk Podlaski.
