Regular Season Round 1: Valmadrera - Milano 49-69

Date: October 6, 2012
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both leader Milano and bottom-ranked Valmadrera had identical 0-0 record. But Valmadrera was not able to use a home court advantage and was outscored by the opponent from Milano 69-49 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in North. The game was mostly controlled by Milano. Valmadrera was better in second period 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Milano forced 25 Valmadrera turnovers. Guard Michela Frantini (175-83) fired 22 points and 4 steals for the winners. Power forward Alessandra Pastorino (182-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five Milano players scored in double figures. Polish-French center Karolina Piotrkiewicz (190-84, college: Liberty, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and guard Claudia Bussola (171-84) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Valmadrera's coach Tiziano Gualtieri let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Milano (1-0) keeps a position of North leader, which they share with 6 other teams.
