Regular Season Round 2: Anwil - Stelmet ZG 65-68

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Anwil (1-1) in Wloclawek on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Stelmet ZG (2-0) 68-65. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Anwil won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian power forward Oliver Stevic (204-84, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 12 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Stelmet ZG's coach Mihailo Uvalin used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Tony Weeden (186-83, college: Chicago St., agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. Stelmet ZG keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Anwil at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost.
