Regular Season Round 3: CCC Polkowice - ROW Rybnik 73-49

There was no surprise when 6th ranked ROW Rybnik (1-2) was crushed on the road by leader CCC Polkowice (2-0) 73-49. It looked good early as ROW Rybnik took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then CCC Polkowice had a 19-9 second period charge getting the lead and ROW Rybnik was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 49-73. CCC Polkowice dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to ROW Rybnik's 24. It was a good game for Spanish guard Laia Palau (178-79) who led her team to a victory with 14 points. Australian Belinda Snell (181-81) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Coach Jacek Winnicki's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Leah Metcalf (173-83, college: N.Carolina) answered with 11 points and the former international center Aleksandra Chomac (191-85, agency: Data Plus Group) added 10 points and 7 steals in the effort for ROW Rybnik. CCC Polkowice moved-up to second place, which they share with Wisla Can-Pak and Artego Bydg. ROW Rybnik at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. CCC Polkowice will play against PTK Pabianice (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. ROW Rybnik will play against the league's second-placed Artego Bydg. in Bydgoszcz to get more than just one victory in their record.
