Regular Season Round 4: Niigata - Ebara Vickies 85-58

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Ebara Vickies (2-1) in Tokyo on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by tenth ranked Niigata (1-2) 85-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ebara Vickies. The game without a history. Niigata led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Inoue Ai (172-90) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Sayaka Komatsu (176-85) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) during the contest. Four Niigata players scored in double figures. At the losing side Hatanaka Miho (177-85) responded with 17 points and Mitsuboshi Hayano (175-86) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Niigata left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Denso Iris. Newly promoted Ebara Vickies dropped to the fifth position with one game lost. They share it with Toyota B SR. Niigata's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Ebara Vickies.
