No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Saynatsalon Riento (2-0) crushed bottom-ranked Ura Basket (0-2) in Kaarina 120-84 on Sunday. The game without a history. Saynatsalon Riento led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 64.5 percent from the field. Saynatsalon Riento outrebounded Ura Basket 42-21 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. American forward Nicholas Pederson (203-85) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import power forward Eryk Thomas (200-85, college: E.Tenn.St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Pederson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Saynatsalon Riento players scored in double figures. American guard Nolan Richardson (188-84, college: Midwestern St.) replied with 27 points and point guard Santeri Latvala (186-91) added 11 points in the effort for Ura Basket. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Saynatsalon Riento moved-up to second place in Division. Loser Ura Basket still closes the standings with two games lost. Saynatsalon Riento will face BC Nokia (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Ura Basket will play against Tapiolan Honka.
