Regular Season Round 1: Fjolnir - KR 93-90

Fjolnir used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Reykjavik 93-90 on Sunday night. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. KR was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 28-18 charge of Fjolnir, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Chris Matthews (193-85, college: St.Bonaventure) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 4 steals (made all of his ten free throws !!!). International Arni Ragnarsson (190-87, college: Al.-Huntsville) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Martin Hermannsson (190-94) answered with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (191-88, college: Francis Marion) added 24 points in the effort for KR. Five KR players scored in double figures.
