Regular Season Round 2: HBA-Marsky - TuNMKY 66-77

Everything could happen in Helsinki at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked TuNMKY and top-ranked HBA-Marsky had identical 1-0 record. But HBA-Marsky was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Turun 77-66 on Sunday night. It was a key game for the second position in Division. The game was mostly controlled by TuNMKY. HBA-Marsky was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TuNMKY dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to HBA-Marsky's 34. TuNMKY forced 29 HBA-Marsky turnovers. Forward Sakari Salminen (200-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Oscar Lindqvist (188-90) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Oskar Michelsen (203-95) replied with 17 points and Julius Rajala (205-94) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for HBA-Marsky. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. TuNMKY (2-0) moved-up to second place in Division. Loser HBA-Marsky dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. TuNMKY will face league's leader KaU Koris in Karkkila in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. HBA-Marsky will play at home against Kerava Energia Team.
