Regular Season Round 2: FoA - HyPo 91-52

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated HyPo (0-1) on the court of eighth ranked Forssan Alku on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Forssan Alku 91-52. The game without a history. Forssan Alku led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Forssan Alku dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to HyPo's 32. Forssan Alku forced 20 HyPo turnovers. Center Juta Jahilo (186-84) scored 17 points to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Laura Saarinen (187-92) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: E.Michigan) responded with 9 points and 9 rebounds and guard Mirka Kilpijarvi (168-91) scored 7 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Forssan Alku (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with Huima and HoNsU. Newly promoted HyPo still closes the standings with one game lost. Forssan Alku is looking forward to face higher ranked Peli-Karhut (#3) in Kotka in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. HyPo will play against TuRi (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
