The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Mitsubishi K. (3-1) in Nagoya on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by eleventh ranked Toyota A. (1-3) 63-52. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mitsubishi K.. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota A.. Mitsubishi K. managed to win third quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international forward Ryoko Yano (178-78) stepped up and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and power forward Mami Ikeda (178-81) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Swingman Mitiko Miyamoto (175-86) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and international forward Chika Sakuragi (179-91) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Toyota A. left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Niigata. Mitsubishi K. at the other side keeps the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with Ebara Vickies. Toyota A. is looking forward to face higher ranked Ebara Vickies (#4) in Tokyo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mitsubishi K. will play at home against Niigata in Tokyo and is hoping to win this game.
