Regular Season Round 3: Perugia - Bari 58-65

Date: October 10, 2012
Very predictable result when leader Bari (2-0) beat on the road bottom-ranked Perugia (0-3) 65-58. It looked good early as Perugia took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bari had a 26-17 second period charge getting the lead and Perugia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-65. 31 personal fouls committed by Perugia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Tommaso Laquintana (187-95) who led the winners and scored 16 points. The former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Bari players scored in double figures. Center Paolo Chiarello (204-78) came up with 9 points and 7 rebounds and forward Simone Bonamente (203-79) added 15 points and 5 steals respectively for Perugia in the defeat. Perugia's coach Andrea Fabrizi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bari keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Firenze and Treviglio. Perugia at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Bari's next round opponent will be Bologna (#6) in Ozzano Emilia which should be theoretically an easy game. Perugia will play on the road against Agrigento (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
