The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Umea as it allowed them to take a leadership position in North. Umea smashed 8th ranked BG Lulea at home 93-64. The game without a history. Umea led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to BG Lulea's 30. Umea forced 22 BG Lulea turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Egal Saleman (199-88) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Per Bergmark (195-89) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was David Niklasson (-95) who recorded 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Andreas Von Uthmann (196-96) added 13 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Umea have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. BG Lulea lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. BG Lulea will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Umea will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked LF Future in Lulea.
