Regular Season Round 3: Matera - Lucca 75-69

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Lucca (2-1) against eleventh ranked Matera (2-1) on Wednesday night. Visiting Lucca was defeated by Matera in a tough game in Matera 69-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lucca. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Massimo Rezzano (203-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Naturalized Argentinian guard Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Matteo Negri (194-91) with 22 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Simone Zanotti (206-92) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Matera moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Lucca. Matera will meet Reggio Calabr. (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lucca will play against Torino (#9) and hope to secure a win.
