Regular Season Round 12: Guerreros - Toros 63-75

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Toros (9-2) defeated on the road 13th ranked Guerreros (3-9) 75-63 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Toros. Guerreros was better in third quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toros forced 30 Guerreros turnovers. Strangely Guerreros outrebounded Toros 36-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian forward Ike Ofoegbu (205-85, college: SMU, agency: Paris Global Sports) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. International point guard Brody Angley (180-86, college: Santa Clara, agency: JEMsports) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Four Toros players scored in double figures. Toros' coach Jose Martinez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Puerto Rican power forward Angel Alamo (206-85) who recorded 23 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Travis Gabbidon (201, college: UTSA) added 10 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Toros maintains second position with 9-2 record having just three points less than leader Halc.Xalapa. Newly promoted Guerreros keep the thirteenth place with nine games lost. Toros will face Gansos (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Guerreros will play against Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
