KR used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Sauoarkrokur 90-69 on Friday night. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Tindastoll turnovers and outrebounded them 39-20 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international Helgi Magnusson (195-82, college: Catawba) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and international center Finnur Magnusson (208-85, college: Catawba) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by American forward George Valentine (203, college: Winthrop) did not help to save the game for Tindastoll. The former international forward Throstur Johannsson (198-89) added 12 points for the guests. Four KR and five Tindastoll players scored in double figures. KR will meet Keflavik on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tindastoll will play against KFI in Reykjavik.
