An interesting game was played in Huelva where Navarra Pamplona (#8) crushed host Conquero (#5) with 25-point difference 84-59 on Friday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Navarra Pamplona dominated on the defensive end, holding Conquero to just 6 points in third quarter. Latvian power forward Aija Putnina (192-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and international power forward Laura Herrera (190-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the losing side power forward Itziar German (184-86) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Cameroonian forward Amina Njonkou (185-88, college: Arizona) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Conquero's coach Gabriel Carrasco gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Navarra Pamplona (1-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Conquero still closes the standings with one game lost.
