There was no surprise in Buenos Aires where 7th ranked GECR Indalo (3-6) was defeated by third ranked Lanus (5-3) 75-57 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Lanus. GECR Indalo was better in third quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American center Robert Battle (204-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management) who scored 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Carlos Schattmann (194-87) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard David Jackson (196-82, college: Penn St.) who recorded 22 points and the other American import power forward Kahiem Seawright (203-86, college: Rhode Island, agency: Edge Sports) added 12 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Lanus have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place in South with 5-3 record having just three points less than leader Penarol. Loser GECR Indalo keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Lanus will face again GECR Indalo (#7) in Comodoro R. in the next round.
