Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Caceres Basket and bottom-ranked Ourense had identical 0-1 record. This time Caceres Basket used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Ourense 85-76 on Friday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ourense won third quarter 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Caceres Basket forced 20 Ourense turnovers. Dutch-British guard Devon Van Oostrum (190-93) scored 23 points to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Antonio Pena (203-86, college: Villanova) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Croatian power forward Mateo Kedzo (206-84) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Raimundo Lopez (184-89) scored 15 points. Five Ourense players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Caceres Basket (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with 7 other teams. Newly promoted Ourense still closes the standings with two games lost. Caceres Basket will face higher ranked Leyma Basquet (#3) in Coruna in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Ourense will play at home against CB Clavijo (#7) in Logrono.
