Important game to mention about took place in Osaka. First ranked Aishin Sea Horses (3-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (1-3) 71-68 in the game for the fourth place. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Hitachi Sunrockers were ahead by 8 points after three quarters before a 26-15 charge of Aishin Sea Horses, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Hitachi Sunrockers 40-29 including 25 on the defensive glass. The former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Ryvon Covile (206-84, college: Detroit Mercy) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Jamar Smith (206-80, college: Maryland) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Aishin Sea Horses went down to fourth position due to points difference. Hitachi Sunrockers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will play against league's second-placed Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Hitachi Sunrockers will play at home against Mitsubishi Dolphins in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
