Regular Season Round 2: Tln Kalev - Kalev/Cramo 74-82

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tallinn: Kalev/Cramo (#6) and Tln Kalev (#4). Tln Kalev was defeated at home 74-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Tln Kalev was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 27-14 charge of Kalev/Cramo, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Tln Kalev 46-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. American power forward Gary Wilkinson (205-82, college: Utah St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Rait Keerles (201-80) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Kalev/Cramo's coach Aivar Kuusmaa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Italian guard Marc Campbell (180-86, college: N.Carolina) replied with 23 points and Nigerian forward Ike Okoye (206, college: Boise St.) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Tln Kalev. Kalev/Cramo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tln Kalev will play on the road against TU/Rock in Tartu to get more than just one victory in their record.
