Very expected game when 11th ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (1-3) lost at home to top-ranked Lattes Montpellier (4-0) 72-59 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Lattes Montpellier. Villeneuve D'Ascq was better in fourth quarter 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Villeneuve D'Ascq 44-27 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for the former international forward Fatimatou Sacko (177-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. The former international forward Geraldine Robert (183-80) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international Amelie Pochet (180-84) replied with 17 points and point guard Bintou Dieme (164-84) added 9 points and 7 assists in the effort for Villeneuve D'Ascq. Lattes Montpellier have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Nantes. Loser Villeneuve D'Ascq keeps the eleventh place with three games lost. Lattes Montpellier will face Arras (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Villeneuve D'Ascq will play against Lyon.
