The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Artego Bydg. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Artego Bydg. defeated 7th ranked ROW Rybnik in Bydgoszcz 104-99 in overtime. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ROW Rybnik won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where ROW Rybnik used huge pressure winning it 16-12 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 23-28. Artego Bydg. made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by ROW Rybnik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Julie McBride (165-82, college: Syracuse) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals (made all of her nine free throws !!!). Nigerian-American center Charity Szczechowiak (191-85, college: SF Austin) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 21 rebounds for the winners. American guard Leah Metcalf (173-83, college: N.Carolina) replied with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and her fellow American import center Marcedes Marie Walker (191-86, college: Pittsburgh, agency: LBM Management) added 26 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for ROW Rybnik. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Artego Bydg. have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Wisla Can-Pak and CCC Polkowice. ROW Rybnik lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with Lider Pruszkow. ROW Rybnik will play next round against strong Wisla Can-Pak trying to get back on the winning streak. Artego Bydg. will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Widzew in Lodz.
