There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Den Helder K. (1-1) beat on the road 6th ranked Rotterdam (1-2) 83-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Den Helder K.. Rotterdam was better in fourth quarter 26-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International center Jeroen van der List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC, agency: Court Side) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Mark Hill (180, college: CS Northridge, agency: Court Side) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Den Helder K. players scored in double figures. The former international forward Daniel Jones (200-79) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Anthony Miles (182-89, college: Lamar) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Rotterdam. Den Helder K. left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with Leeuwarden. Loser Rotterdam dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Den Helder K. will face Leeuwarden (#6) on the road in the next round. Rotterdam will play against the league's second-placed Groningen in Groningen.
