Regular Season Round 3: B.Bystrica - Prievidza 90-72

The game with biggest result difference took place in Banska Bystrica. Local SKP Banska Bystrica (1-1) beat Prievidza (0-2) 90-72 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by SKP Banska Bystrica. Prievidza managed to win fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Prievidza 45-30 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (193-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. The former international power forward Peter Dorazil (199-89) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. Five SKP Banska Bystrica players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) with 15 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Joseph Harris (196-87, college: Co.Carolina) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SKP Banska Bystrica left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with Handlova and Komarno. Defending champion Prievidza still closes the standings with two games lost. SKP Banska Bystrica will meet league's second-placed Nitra in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Prievidza will play against Svit (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
