Lechugueros (#12) forced the game against Barreteros (#9) into an overtime, but lost by two points 79-81. The game took place in Leon. But the guests from Zacatecas were better at the end. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lechugueros. The guests were ahead by 8 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 16-13 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-9. Barreteros made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jason Horton (188-86, college: Missouri) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import forward Jerome Habel (208-85, college: San Diego St.) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Horton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Senegalese center Babacar Camara (211-81, college: CS Fullerton) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and guard Luis Pulido (188-85, college: Cal Poly Pomona) added 15 points and 14 assists in the effort for Lechugueros. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lechugueros' coach Harold Arceneaux rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Barreteros (7-6) moved-up to eighth place. Lechugueros at the other side keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. Barreteros will play against Huracanes (#9) in Tampico in the next round. Lechugueros will play on the road against Halcones Rojos in Veracruz and hope to get back on the winning track.
