Regular Season Round 4: AZS Radex - MKS DG 70-65

Undefeated MKS DG (3-1) recorded its first loss in Szczecin. Visitors were defeated by sixteenth ranked AZS Radex (1-3) 70-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of MKS DG. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-13. But MKS DG won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AZS Radex made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 MKS DG turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 13 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Krzysztof Mielczarek (198-81) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Guard Maciej Raczynski (191-84, agency: Promotex) contributed with 14 points for the winners. AZS Radex's coach Zbigniew Majcherek allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. point guard Grzegorz Grochowski (178-93) replied with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals and center Piotr Zielinski (198-83) added 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for MKS DG. AZS Radex left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. MKS DG at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with 5 other teams. AZS Radex will play against higher ranked Znicz Basket (#7) in Pruszkow in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. MKS DG will play at home against MOSiR Krosno (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
