Regular Season Round 6: Chanson V-M - Aishin AW 84-65

Undefeated leader Chanson V-M delivered the fifth consecutive win on Saturday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Aishin Wings (0-5) 84-65 in Shizuoka. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-65. Chanson V-M outrebounded Aishin Wings 42-29 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Aishin Wings helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international forward Kana Motoyama (180-90) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Kiyoko Hamaguti (181-90) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chanson V-M (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row, which they share with Fujitsu RW and JX Sunflowers. Aishin Wings at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Hitachi Cougars and Yamanashi QB. Chanson V-M is again looking forward to face Aishin Wings (#10) in Anjo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aishin Wings will have a break next round.
