Top-ranked JX Sunflowers blasted bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB (0-5) in Kashiwa 110-61 on Saturday evening keeping the perfect record after 6 rounds. Yamanashi QB is still unable to win any game. The game without a history. JX Sunflowers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 92 of its points in the paint compared to Yamanashi QB's 34. They outrebounded Yamanashi QB 43-30 including a 35-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. JX Sunflowers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Yamanashi QB's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when JX Sunflowers made 9 blocks. The former international power forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Yuki Miyazawa (181-93, college: Queens, NY) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four JX Sunflowers players scored in double figures. JX Sunflowers' coach Kiyomi Sato felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Kanako Ninomiya (165-85) with 20 points and power forward Mika Okada (174-87) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. JX Sunflowers (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion (5-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Chanson V-M and Fujitsu RW. Newly promoted Yamanashi QB still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Aishin AW and Hitachi Cougars. JX Sunflowers will again meet bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Yamanashi QB will have a break next round.
