The game with biggest result difference took place in Cancun. Local Pioneros (8-5) outscored 14th ranked Osos (2-11) 118-65 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Pioneros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Osos' 46. They outrebounded Osos 43-29 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pioneros looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American power forward Mike Williams (201-85, college: Cincinnati) stepped up and scored 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Forrest Fisher (193-80) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Pioneros players scored in double figures. Coach Josep Claros's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American swingman Samuel Bowie (198-75, college: SE Louisiana) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Marlyn Bryant (193-82, college: S.Florida) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Pioneros. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Panteras and Abejas. Osos lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Pioneros will meet Guerreros (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Osos will play against Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and hope to secure a win.
