Date: October 14, 2012
Kerava Energia Team has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat HyPo (1-2) 95-83. The game was mostly controlled by Kerava Energia Team. HyPo was better in third quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kerava Energia Team dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to HyPo's 34. Kerava Energia Team forced 26 HyPo turnovers. HyPo was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Italian-Ghanian guard Rosetta Adzasu (165-90, college: Washington St.) who scored that evening 26 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and American guard Earlysia Marchbanks (180, college: Oregon St., agency: Interperformances) supported her with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Five Kerava Energia Team players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 25 rebounds by American power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: E.Michigan) did not help to save the game for HyPo. Her fellow American import forward Kathlyn Varno (185-88, college: Wofford) added 17 points and 17 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kerava Energia Team (1-3) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. Newly promoted HyPo dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with HoNsU. Kerava Energia Team will play against higher ranked Aanekosken (#6) in Aanekoski in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. HyPo will play at home against the league's leader Catz Lappeenranta having rather not much hope for a victory.
