Regular Season Round 7: Aishin AW - Chanson V-M 66-89

WJBL top team - Chanson V-M (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Aishin Wings (0-6) in Anjo 89-66. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-66. Strangely Aishin Wings outrebounded Chanson V-M 32-20. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Chanson V-M looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Saori Fujiyoshi (178-87) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Guard Makoto Rin (168-88) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. Power forward Shiyu Sato (178-87) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Aishin Wings. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chanson V-M have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record, which they share with Fujitsu RW and JX Sunflowers. Aishin Wings at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Hitachi Cougars and Yamanashi QB. Chanson V-M is looking forward to face JX Sunflowers (#3) in Kashiwa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aishin Wings will have a break next round.
