Regular Season Round 3: Shimane SM - Fukuoka Rizing 81-64
Date: October 14, 2012
Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Fukuoka Rizing (0-2) lost on the road to leader Shimane Magic (2-0) 81-64 on Sunday. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Shimane Magic outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 37-23 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) contributed with 7 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida, agency: Top Notch Sports) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shimane Magic keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Fukuoka Rizing still closes the standings with two games lost. Shimane Magic will face Miyazaki Shining Suns (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Hamamatsu Phoenix in Mikawa and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
