Regular Season Round 1: Netanya - Maccabi Ashdod 87-75

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked GreenTops Netanya (5-4) defeated at home bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (1-7) 87-75. Maccabi Ashdod was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. GreenTops Netanya made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Ramel Bradley (188-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import forward Jonathan Mitchell (200-87, college: Rutgers) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) answered with 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Moshe Mizrahi (202-80, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. GreenTops Netanya moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hapoel T-A and Hapoel J-M. Maccabi Ashdod lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. GreenTops Netanya will play against Bnei Hasharon (#8) in Hod Hasharon in the next round. Maccabi Ashdod will play on the road against Hapoel Holon (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
