Regular Season Round 10: Lanus - GECR Indalo 88-94
Date: October 14, 2012
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Lanus (6-4) against seventh ranked GECR Indalo (3-7) on Sunday night. Host Lanus was defeated by GECR Indalo in a tough game in Buenos Aires 88-94. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-88. American guard David Jackson (196-82, college: Penn St.) notched 27 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) to lead the effort and center Diego Romero (203-82, college: Florida St.) supported him with 19 points. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by the former international swingman Carlos Schattmann (194-87) did not help to save the game for Lanus. American center Robert Battle (204-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lanus' coach Silvio Jose Santander rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. GECR Indalo moved-up to sixth place in South. Loser Lanus keeps the third position with four games lost. GECR Indalo will meet at home 9 de Julio (#8) in the next round. Lanus will play against the league's second-placed Argentino (#2) in Junin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
