Regular Season Round 4: Umea - LF Future 73-84
Date: October 14, 2012
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Umea (4-1) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by LF Future (4-0) 84-73. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Umea. It was a key game for the top position in North as both teams had the same 3-0 record before this meeting. It looked good early as Umea took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then LF Future had a 26-22 second period charge getting the lead and Umea was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-84. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Australian swingman Timothy Kearney (200-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds and guard Adam Ronnqvist (181-90) who added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side forward Egal Saleman (199-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and guard Johan Pierre (187-89, agency: Interperformances) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Umea's coach Jesper Gustavsson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. LF Future have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of North leader, which they share with Taby. Newly promoted Umea dropped to the third place with one game lost. LF Future will play against league's second-placed Taby Basket at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Umea will have a break next round.
