Regular Season Round 2: LeGamberi FO - Giorgo Tesi PT 57-84
Date: October 14, 2012
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of LeGamberi Foods Forli (1-1) in Forli. Hosts were rolled over by Tuscany Pistoia (2-0) 84-57. Tuscany Pistoia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Tuscany Pistoia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Panamanian swingman Michael Hicks (194-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) notched 18 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Riccardo Cortese (195-86) supported him with 21 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Four Tuscany Pistoia players scored in double figures. Tuscany Pistoia's coach Paolo Moretti felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by Bosnian-Serbian forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) did not help to save the game for LeGamberi Foods Forlì. American point guard Bo Spencer (186-89, college: Nebraska) added 21 points for the hosts. Tuscany Pistoia will play against Tezenis VE in Verona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. LeGamberi Foods Forli will play on the road against Sigma Barcellona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
