Regular Season Round 4: Recanati - Chieti 69-81

Chieti can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Recanati (1-3)on the road game in Recanati 81-69 on Sunday. Recanati was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Recanati 41-24 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Chieti especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Simone Gatti (202-82) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and naturalized San Marino Andrea Raschi (198-79) who added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) responded with 27 points and 8 rebounds and Marco Tagliabue (206-86) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Chieti (1-2) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with San Severo and Omegna. It was Recanati's third loss in a row. They dropped to the fifteenth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Chieti will meet at home league's second-placed Treviglio in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Recanati will play against Latina Basket (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
