Regular Season Round 3: Lagun Aro GBC - Gescrap BB 65-72

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Lagun Aro GBC (0-3) lost to tenth ranked Gescrap BB (2-1) in San Sebastian 65-72. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lagun Aro GBC won third quarter 22-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Raul Lopez (183-80) who scored 14 points. The former international forward Alex Mumbru (202-79) chipped in 9 points and 5 assists. Gescrap BB's coach Fotis Katsikaris allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Brazilian point guard Raul Neto (186-92) who recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Guillem Rubio (202-82) added 7 points respectively. Gescrap BB moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Lagun Aro GBC at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Gescrap BB's next round opponent will be league's leader Asefa Estudiantes in Madrid and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lagun Aro GBC will play on the road against UCAM Murcia (#13) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
