The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Bourges (3-1) in Les Milles on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Aix-en-Provence (2-2) 83-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bourges. Aix-en-Provence made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Bourges 40-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian center Cayla Francis (192-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Australian center Marianna Tolo (196-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. International guard Celine Dumerc (169-82) replied with 17 points and 9 assists and international center Emmeline Ndongue (192-83) added 14 points in the effort for Bourges. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bourges' coach Valerie Garnier rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aix-en-Provence moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Defending champion Bourges keeps the third position with one game lost. Aix-en-Provence is looking forward to face Basket Landes (#10) in Mont de Marsan in the next round where they are favorite. Bourges will have a break next round.
